4+ hour flight departing London after 12 noon in Club Europe
What should my meal expectations be?
(I know they should be “low”, but realistically is it just going to be a butty and a bag of crisps)
Not flown BA for a few years, and I think it was a disappointing tomato salad or something last time I did?
Flyertalk has a whole thread for this https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/british-airways-british-airways-club/2179436-club-europe-catering-menus-reviews-photos-2025-a.html

No, you will get a very decent modern lunch or dinner depending on the precise timing of your flight. First course, choice of three main courses, cheese with fig jam and pudding. Ample, but not massively substantial but good quality and you will get bread as well. All far better quality than any Club World offering. When BA is very penny pinching in so many areas, it’s surprising to see them offer relatively more expensive, better quality products like Belazu nuts, Peter’s Yard cheese biscuits, Fever Tree tonic etc.
And unless things have recently deteriorated, you will have a serving of splendid Shihar Welsh butter to go with your bread, which is always a pleasure
Thanks folks – really appreciate it
I’ll also have a gander @ the Flyertalk thread – thanks for linking it.
Is there still a ‘system’ in place for where best to sit in CE for your first choice meal? (was it direction dependant, or am I confusing with CW?)
Service is supposed to be from the front without any prioritision by status like CW. Though occasionally on a big cabin I’ve seen it done from the front and the back

Shirgar, I tried to say.

Almost always from the front; I’ve only once seen anything else. Unless you’re a fussy eater, don’t worry about having a choice, though; whatever is left will be fine.
Catering differs between LGW/LHR flights, with the latter a bit better on average, same goes for service/consistency.
Row 1 pretty much guarantees choice, I’ve been in row 2 and already the ‘favourite’ menu choice has run out, depends how many rows of CE there are.
If you have likes/dislikes, one option is to order a special meal to narrow the range (you can do it in Manage My Booking.)
If you’re a big eater, the KSML tends to be generous, it’s often chicken. Special meals usually are served before the rest of the meal service gets going.

Aside from kosher, the Hindu veg ones can be pretty good too, BA says they’re ‘mild’, but I’ve had some excellent ones garnished with slices of raw chilli.
