Just to follow-up on @rho’s post in yesterday’s chat.
Could anyone test this?
It does show up on the PP website and app when logged in with an AmEx issued PP card.
Here’s an HfP article from earlier this year. as it states, only Pizza Express at LGW is available to Amex Platinum linked PP’s.
Last year I used the credit at the Moevenpick Cafe at Berlin Brandenburg (an awful airport), but that facility was withdrawn earlier this year.https://www.headforpoints.com/2025/05/14/priority-pass-restaurant-credit-airports/
The answer to your original query is – NO, you don’t get free grub at LCY.
I value the PP part of Amex Platinum as zero GBP.
showing up on mine too, pretty sure it did not use to, so unless it’s a bug/error it would suggest it should be now included
unfortunately I don’t have any upcoming LCY flights but i’m also curious to see if anybody gives it a go

unless you went this morning and they told you no, i really don’t see how you can possibly give an answer with this level of certainty

Did you… actually… read my post…?
The Mövenpick Café was removed as there’s now a PP lounger at BER.
es, only Pizza Express at LGW is available to Amex Platinum linked PP’s.

if it wasn’t clear, my response was referring to: “The answer to your original query is – NO, you don’t get free grub at LCY.”
Once again, unless you went this morning and they sent you away, you don’t seem to have any actual evidence for such a definite response. Your experience at BER is completely irrelevant.I think you need to check who wrote what post, @bthere79 🤣
I obviously agree with you, I was also querying @SteveCroydon‘s post…

haha yes i’m sorry!!! 🙂
In any case, I’ve asked PP directly – will update in due course.
I can confirm it never used to show up on the Amex PP app, as it only showed up on my HSBC one previously.
If it is now available to Amex PP my question would be could I can two lots of credit one with my Amex PP and one with my HSBC PP?
So I asked Priority Pass…
First reply:

Since 2019, American Express Priority Pass cardholders no longer have access to any of the lounge alternatives that we are partnered with such as restaurants, cafes, spas and bars. If you would like to know the reason behind this, you would need to contact your bank directly. The reason why you see the lounge alternatives on our website is because they are still available to our retail members. It is very important that you log into your online account on the app or website when searching for lounges so that you can find only your personal lounge information.
===So I said I am logged in, I can still see it + what about Pizza Express at LGW…?
Second reply:
===
Kyle was correct in saying that Amex members do not have access to restuarants as per the agreement with American Express. They are the ones who decide which lounges or restaurants you can access.
I do see that the Juniper & Co Bar and Kitchen does show that you have access to it and you can try and use it however they might deny you access due to the fact that Amex members should not have access to restuarants.
===Aaaaarghhhhh… how can they not know?!
@Rob – don’t suppose you could try your channels? So I am literally at City Airport. But I doubt there is a way to tell as if I used my Amex priority pass and it wasn’t accepted then priority pass would just charge Mrs Froggee’s Amex for the visit which would see multiple demerits and an elbow to the head tonight.
And having already got lunch from Pret it seemed a high risk manoeuvre for little real benefit.
But because I was bored I finally got round to registering my HSBC world elite for priority pass and got a coffee for “free”. The guy found this so wasteful I got two packets of Tony’s chocolate bits and two packets of Candy Kittens (what are they?) to make the total approach £18.
I actually feel disappointed at myself for doing so. And the coffee is bogging so I am wondering where I can pour it away as I hate leaving my trash for others.
I suspect that unless we get PP to confirm, one of us will need to risk paying PP £25 for the pleasure of an £18 Juniper credit…!

Last time I was there I ordered a glass of red and thought I might need to order another or some snacks to use up my £18. I was astounded when they asked me for £1.80 as the glass (large) of red was £19.80!
Importantly, Juniper at LCY not only shows up in an Amex PP online account but also in the Amex Global Lounge Collection, which is really the golden source here, so it must be real.
Makes a lot of sense to include this option given the lack of lounges at LCY (and the lack of need for a full service lounge) – most people spend so little time in the terminal building that a drink will be just fine.I’ve been emailing with Christopher Evans, the CEO, and even the “senior” customer service rep he assigned to this can’t answer the question so far…!
To be fair, I suspect there are about 3 people across Amex and PPass who know about any change and it certainly won’t have fed through to the respective PR teams who I wouldn’t trust to give a correct answer as far as I could throw them.
So I have it confirmed in writing from Claire Ward, Director of Consumer Operations at Collinson that “AMEX Priority Pass membership does indeed grant you access to Juniper & Co Bar and Kitchen at LCY.”
Fill your boots 🥳🤣

Sounds Positive @PeteM, can you elaborate on the content of Claire Ward’s email or upload a copy for clarity? Any member of the public can “access Juniper & Co Bar and Kitchen at LCY” even without an Amex issued Priority Pass so be good see what the actual benefit is, as access isn’t one.
Let me repeat what I said upthread. I know these people. They haven’t a clue what is going on in their own organisations. Either an email goes out to Amex Plat cardholders or it will be trial and error with someone needing to give it a go.
(To be clear, I haven’t a clue what is going on in my own organisation either. I honestly have no idea who is taking the key ad units on HfP next week. I just let Katie and Sinead get on with it!)
My last email to Christopher Evans said:
“My really simple question is – can I use an AmEx-issued Priority Pass Juniper & Co Bar and Kitchen at LCY, given that it shows as an option when I am logged into my Priority Pass account, which is linked to the AmEx scheme. Or is it a glitch on your system that you need to fix?”
To which Claire replied:
“Christopher has asked me to personally confirm that your AMEX Priority Pass membership does indeed grant you access to Juniper & Co Bar and Kitchen at LCY. I also want to acknowledge that the response you received from a member of my team did not fully address your concerns. I will be reviewing this with them to ensure future communications are clearer and more helpful.”
So as far as I am concerned, we definitely get £18 credit with an AmEx-issued Priority Pass at Juniper & Co Bar and Kitchen at LCY. A friend will be passing later in the week and will test it, if no one else beats him to it 🙂
@Rob – that you do not micro-manage your staff is a testament to good leadership and a strong team.
The fact that a benefits lead club like Priority Pass cannot definitively tell us what the benefits of membership are is not a good look.
I’ve used my Amex linked PP for lounges but not for credit at a restaurant. I’m flying out of london City don’t and would like to take advantage if the Juniper offer. Can somebody advice the prices please to make sure I get the credit on my Amex card. Thanks.
