Just spent hour trying out be Virgin reward seat finder .… issues?

So I’ve two companion vouchers and with the update (will find out if good or bad) gave a number of different searches. Based on all
Upper class. I’ve searched Miami, Montego Bay, and New York. As low as (according to the reward search availability tool) upper class as low as 29,000 one way. But for the life of me, even when the 29,000 is shown on a particular date on the tool (lots in January) when you go into search flights, there is nothing T 29,000. The best I could find was 66,000 total return plus 1,019 pounds for taxes and includes incredible fees Virgin charge. I tried all of the above locations plus some more and lots of dates, other than the 66,000 everything was ie. The standard (at best) New York being 95,000 return, which was what it was previously up to 420,000!

I know this is their reward scheme, but when mugs like me bought 340,000 airmiles for 3k, i do feel somewhat short changed.

The tool does appear sluggish and difficult to manage, and the constant two factor sign in is incredibly frustrating.

Has anyone managed to find anything at the 29.000 for New York plus 1020 quid? Or any other locations with low airmiles?

I’m also red. So no doubt losing out as there is so little at 75,000 or less.

I truly don’t see how on earth this is good way of motivating new or existing customers to move to the airline (yes I have only flown them twice, and no doubt BA has their issues) But being gold with them, and their fleet size, I don’t see the how Virgin are better unless I’m
Totally missing something? Why make it so difficult to try and find a good upper class reward deal rather than searching date after date after date on a clunky website.

Is it worth calling them to say – I wish to go here around these dates. What are the lowest total airmiles you have? Anyone tried this ?

Sorry. Lots of questions, but my first try on this new website (the one last week was just garbage) is just as bad. I honestly am tempted just to sell the airmiles online and be done with it!

Ie. In short is there a hack or a quicker way to try and find the best / lowest airmiles for upper class, because I just couldn’t find anything

Are you searching for a one way or a return? The booking part of the site shows the lowest RETURN cost for the dates you want, which isn’t at all helpful. If you search for a one way you’d see if the outbound leg was indeed 29k.
