Anyone able to decode the fare classes on KLM or AF? I need 20TPs to retain silver so intend to book a KLM flight which, due to connections, should give me 20TPs in economy, unless its the A, X, or O fare class. When looking on KLM website, I can’t seem to find the fare class anywhere, only a fare basis code which is eg GYLNBNLA. I don’t really want to book it unless it will get my 20 TPs. Tried booking on VAs website and it can’t find the flights
TIA
GYLNBNLA is an Air France G fare, which would earn 25 long-haul and 10 short/medium-haul: https://flywith.virginatlantic.com/gb/en/partner-airlines/skyteam/air-france/air-france-earn-points.html. The important letter is the first letter. Don’t confuse this with a VS G fare, which is a reward Upper.
Thanks. I was concerned that it was the final letter that gave fare class!
I subsequently found this that also helps confirm what it all means. Useful image at post #8
