If only BA could perform like this…

Recently was flying LHR-FRA-CAI. Got heavily delayed out of LHR due to fog. Would miss connecting in FRA so was rebooked onto Egyptair direct flight. Meant c7 hours overall wait at T2, and a 2 hour late arrival in CAI. however this flight was then delayed another 1 hour 50, not sure why, but likely not fog related. So ended up arriving just under 4 hours late overall in CAI.

Kudos to LHA as they compensated us a full EUR600 each for the delay, all within 10 days of the flight, and provided (a slightly miserly) 10GBP each for food/drink at T2.

You could have claimed whatever a reasonable meal would cost at the location if the delay led you to be stuck across a mealtime. Get some photos of alternative options to prove the local pricing, ideally.

If an airline hands out vouchers that is not what you’re restricted to legally, you claim whatever the reasonable local cost you’ve paid is under duty of care if the airline or route is subject to EU / UK 261.

However LH has been more decent than reports of them have been for a long time and what you recovered was compo so not out of pocket. So with such a short overall delay and prompt rerouting, as you did I’d probably not have bothered either.

    Well done.
Meanwhile it has been over 6 months since I submitted about £200 worth of expenses for duty of care, and all I get are email replies telling me they are still looking into it.

Are there any other email addresses I can try contacting other than these ones that I’ve already tried?
    cure.prio@lufthansa.com; executivefeedback@lufthansa.com; brqcustomerservice.xr@dlh.de

    Thanks.

Yeah sorry, should have said I used that one initially and then moved on to the ones I listed.
9 months on and still waiting for some kind of meaningful response from Lufty.
