Forums Frequent flyer programs The British Airways Club Late August Mediterranean Break

  • 12 posts

Not sure if anyone can help with this but trying to find reward flights from London August 25 and returning September 1. Looking pretty much anywhere for a week long beach break. I can find outbound flights to many places but it is the inbound that seems impossible to find. Is there some way to search for inbound availability? Any suggestions gratefully accepted.

A lot of people will be returning for the start of the new school year at the beginning of September which will account for the poor availability. Have you got SeatSpy? There’s a facility to look at a map of availability for your chosen dates.

Seatspy has nothing on those dates for a beach in Europe. Closest is Cairo or Turin but you obviously need onward travel from there. The Ligurian Riviera is a 3 hour drive from Turin airport.

Much further afield there is Houston (easily in reach of the Gulf of Mexico America) and Mumbai (easily in reach of Goa).

If you can adjust a day or so either side, Madrid, Paris and Rome are all showing, from where it’s fairly simple to connect to the respective coasts.
Also, how many people is it for?

If trains don’t appeal Iberia domestic flights can be very cheap but increase in price a fair bit closer to the travel date. You could also try searching for (e.g.) LHR-MAD-AGP with avios on ba.com for award seats.

Also – as you say, there’s plenty of outbound availability (at least for 2 people), so if you don’t mind connecting on the way back you actually have quite a lot of choice, and of course that would be less hassle (and cost) than connecting both ways.
