Forums Frequent flyer programs British Airways Club London to Bangkok – tier points query

  • 9 posts

If I use the BA flight calculator for the above route it says I will get 140 points each way for business class.

When i look at the flight options I am routed via Doha.

Using the flight calculator for this routing, it says I will get 140pts for each leg (London to Doha, and Doha to Bangkok). So 560 in total, which includes the return leg.

Will I get 280 or 560 for the trip?

Given that I will also be booking the hotel with ba this makes a huge difference with the double tier points holiday rule – either 560 or 1120.

I think (and hope) the latter is correct, but would appreciate anyone’s thoughts.

You earn based on the individual flight sectors.

Yes you should be good for the double tier points offer and 1120 TPs, if your booking meets all the current Ts and Cs – check you are being booked on BA or BA codeshare flight numbers, and are booking the hotel in the same transaction, and for min 5 nights.

Thank you both – happy days!

I did this a year ago and booked hotels to meet the rules of the double tier points offer as they were at the time. I got 1120 tier points which jumped me to Gold.

I’ll be losing that in January and I’m trying to explain to my wife why we won’t be able to stay Gold.
