Forums Payment cards American Express Losing Marriott Gold status with Amex Platinum?

Received the following message from Marriott, do I need to contact AMEX?

“…thank you for your commitment to Marriott Bonvoy®. We hope you have enjoyed your Gold Elite status. While you did not meet the requirements to renew this status in 2022, we are pleased to offer you Silver Elite status through February 2024”

Check the benefits section of your AMEX account first to make sure the two accounts are still linked. Someone mentioned a few days ago theirs had become unlinked so might save you a call.

Yes, this is what I posted about here… https://www.headforpoints.com/forums/topic/amex-hotel-airline-other-membership-benefits/

Go into your Amex benefits and add it back, make sure to put in your existing Bonvoy number.

I checked my AMEX account and it is showing Marriott Bonvoy™ Gold Elite Status, but what is odd is that the membership number the AMEX site is showing is different to my actual Marriott membership number? I can’t figure out how to correct, is it a phone call after all?

If you click on account details, it seems to take you to a page to sign up again so maybe try that.

Yes, I have tried that but still Silver, very annoying…

Just had a chat with AMEX online “We have been made aware of this issue and are currently investigating this situation with Marriott. If your Marriott Bonvoy status was downgraded from Gold to Silver in error, your status will be reinstated as soon as possible and all benefits associated with Gold status will be awarded to you by Marriott.”
