Forums Frequent flyer programs British Airways Club Lounge access – Neilson Holidays

  • 68 posts

I am flying on a Neilson holiday in the summer and BA are operating the flight (tickets are also available to buy via BA.com)l for the flight).

From reading around I understand that these tickets are not eligible for avios or tier points but does anyone know if I can still use the lounge (silver) or do all BA flights not allow lounge access in certain circumstances?

    Thanks in advance

Is it a charter flight? If so, these generally don’t allow lounge access (either based on your status or if it’s business class etc) unless the charter company has agreed a deal. No harm in trying though, just be prepared to graciously accept a refusal. I had a ‘no’ at Gatwick but a ‘yes’ in Barbados.

If it’s a standard scheduled flight, I would expect normal lounge entry rules to apply in the UK at least.

Thanks, I imagine they’ll not let me in. I don’t think the flight is chartered (it’s BA618 and available to by on BA).

I’ll expect to be turned away

I think you’re likely to get lounge access, but it’s not certain. Certainly worth a try.

I think you’ll have access due to your silver status.

Their winter service to TLS is chartered and collects no Avios, no benefits etc.

Their summer flights are standard scheduled and do earn Avios, so would suspect other benefits may alap apply.

See here and scroll to info on BA flights

Many thanks for this – I have followed this and got my booking reference and BAEC linked up.
