I have a economy flight booked which is Emirates metal on a Qantas codeshare. It has a QF flight number and I have silver One World status. I think I should be able to access a One World lounge, but can anyone confirm or deny this please?
ThanksWhich airport and terminal are you thinking of?
Depends on the airport/lounge, as per https://www.qantas.com/gb/en/qantas-experience/network-and-partner-airlines/emirates.html
Also, note
“oneworld Emerald or Sapphire tier status can use lounges offered by oneworld airlines when departing on any flight marketed and operated by any oneworld member airline” as per the oneworld website.Use this link to check the airports you are interest on:
https://www.oneworld.com/airport-lounges
For instance, for CDG you will see some longes are for silver/gold members travelling on ANY airline while others are for specific airlines.
Jumping on this – if you’re staying overnight at LHR between a domestic and long haul flight, can you use a the Galleries lounges the evening before the long haul connection?

ThanksWhat matters here is that your flight is operated by EK but EK isn’t a One World Airline so you won’t have access to any One World airline lounge.
Now I know EK and QF do have a link up so it’s possible if you have status with QF they may let you in to one of their lounges but that won’t apply if your OW silver is not from QF.

No.
The practicalities are against you because your domestic BP would get rejected when you tried to enter the departures lounge as there is a BP scanning desk between the domestic arrivals stream and entering the departures area.
It would also reject your long haul BP because it isn’t for a same day departure.
Thanks @ChrisC, it used to be possible to do something like this at MAN but we’ve never tried it the other way around.

A Silver member would have lounge access on the day-before domestic segment (assuming one was available).

There’s a Qantas lounge, so try there.
Can you please say what airline your One World status is with because that will determine what if any lounge you can use.

Thats not the issue
NL is trying to use a T5 departures lounge as an arrivals lounge and that’s not possible.

Just adding to the discussion here.

I also have a stop in Dubai…
Have a look at the Emirates Business lounge requirements https://www.oneworld.com/airport-lounges?location=DXB
I don’t know if it will be useful, but here is a Qantas link about the Emirates / Qantas partnership which includes a section about lounge access. There is a further link from there specifically for lounge access rules. However, it has been written from the viewpoint of Qantas frequent flyers rather than One World rather than One World frequent flyers. Qantas Gold is One World Sapphire, so equivalent to BA Silver.
But as I said above EK isn’t a one world airline
Just because EK and QF have done a deal it does not automatically apply to everyone with the equivalent OW status with another OW airline.
BA has a side deal with EI where BA golds get EI lounge access on some routes but that does not apply to other OW equivalent status passengers
AA has a side deal with Jet Blue where AA status passengers get benefits on Jet Blue (and vice versa) but those don’t extend to any other OW airlines status passengers.
This is why Vicky needs to say with which airline her status is with to get a definitive answer.
Sorry @ChrisC my status is with BA.
I had a look at those links and it APPEARS to imply that my status is honoured if the flight is marketed by Qantas, which it is. ( I purchased it on the Qantas website and it has a qf flight number) And the Qantas page says that if you are one world silver they will treat you as Qantas gold…- This reply was modified 55 years, 4 months ago by .
@VickyTM – yes, in general Qantas treats One World Silver as Qantas Gold, although there are a few exceptions which are reserved for their own frequent flyer members (like many other airlines).
It is possible that lounge access on Qantas Emirates code shares are one of these exceptions. The link I gave above doesn’t specifically answer that question, even by inference, but it does gives you some background information if you want to contact Qantas for a definite answer. And it gives you something to print and take with you in the hope of being persuasive if you don’t.
I would think you would have more luck at Qantas’s own lounges such as the one in LHR T3, or in Australia.
