Forums Payment cards American Express Lounge at Perugia airport

  • 256 posts

    Hi all
Has anybody flown out of it and used the lounge? Do you recommend? It costs €12 and kids under 14 get in for free.
And do you know if one can use Amex to get in?
    Thank you

When we were there in mid-June it was closed. No information provided at the airport about whether that closure is permanent or not. Interested to know if anyone has seen it open since then.

Oh that’s annoying. But did you notice whether access could be gained with an Amex card of some sort for example?

It’s open & I used it on Sunday night. It’s a small room (approx 3×4 metres). There’s a dining style table with 4-6 seats, a coffee table with 2 two seater sofas & a couple of single chairs. It will get full before a BA flight so not sure they allow Priority Pass etc. There isn’t actually a reception, you get the code for the door at check-in.

Refreshments are limited, a fridge with still/sparkling water, a couple of bottles of beers & soft drinks & a coffee machine. There’s a few bags of crisps & Baci chocolates. There is a single toilet & shower.

It’s better than nothing but the attraction of Perugia airport vs my other frequent options Rome & Pisa are that it’s tiny. Drop off & parking are less than 60 second walk from check-in, security another 15paces & the gates not much further again. You can turn up 45mins before with luggage & be fine. If on-line check in we’re possible at Perugia (the airport is not compatible with Fly so it’s airport check in only) then you could arrive 25mins before departure!

The attraction for me was that it’s a stone’s throw from Bolsena Lake where I’ll be staying in the next few days – much closer than Rome. And that I found onbusiness seats so easily. Good to know about the rest, very interesting so we don’t have to go that early. Thank you!
