Lounge visits – I am now being charged

Hi all,

I used my 4 prebook vouchers at Gatwick and although some of the lounges showed a charge, there was others that came up as £0, I selected the Number 1 lounge and have now been charged £48. On top of this, flying out of Aruba and I walked in to the lounge using the platinum (no issue) and now I have been charged £24.
I am confused, I thought the Amex platinum was complimentary?

It’s 2 free entries per priority pass card. It sounds like you may have used all 4 against the one card. If you have a supplementary cardholder then they have their own priority pass with 2 free entries so it needs to be split.

So to be clear. Unlimited number of occasions, but on each occasion complimentary for cardholder & one guest only. Supplementary cardholder can also enter (on their supplementary card) with their own guest. Hence a family of four, for example, can get in. But on TWO cards not one.

I thought the pre-book vouchers expired on 31st December 2024 and I haven’t seen any renewals.

Also – in Aruba – did you use your ‘Platinum’ card or your ‘Priority Pass’ card? If you used your Platinum card, you’ll be charged (just wondering if this is a wind up)

Thanks all……….I did indeed use all pre book passes on one card at Gatwick (it was just before xmas).

I ended up speaking to Priority pass and although we showed both Passes (I meant priority pass not Amex), they only put it on one in Aruba.

I go in like this. My plat (when I had it) with son. Just us two please. Then my wife goes in with her complimentary card. Entry is with PP. I think you created confusion but it’s fine, it happens. Use Amex app as it’ll tell you which one to use to enter.
