Forums Other Destination advice Majorca hotel recommendation

  • 37 posts

I’m sure this must have been asked before but couldn’t find anything recent on search…

We’re looking to visit Majorca late August for 5 nights and looking for hotel recommendations. We visited Palma last year but this time looking for somewhere that we can mostly stay in nice surroundings with a pool but wonder into a nice small town.

Ideally looking at £200 / night but realise this doesn’t go as far as it use to! Bonus for anywhere that is adults only or better suited for couples (such as smaller hotels).

Any recommendations greatly appreciated or even guidance on best areas having never been anywhere other than Palma!

There’s Espléndido Hotel and probably cheaper hotels nearby.

I can second a recommendation for Esplendido in Port de Soller, and Port de Soller as a desintation in general. Assuming you are travelling outwith the school holidays then, I think it would be fairly peaceful. I’ve been twice during school holidays and I was far from being over run with kids. It also has an ‘adult’s only’ pool at the top of the terraced gardens.

There is also a Jumeriah in Port de Soller but it is out the way a bit, albeit they run a shuttle to and from the port. I think they also have an adults only pool and lounger area.

Budget is tight for the Jumeriah but you may get lucky with the Esplendido for non-peak dates. Hotel Es Port also worth a look.

Plenty of good restaurants around the port but it is not a cheap place to eat out if you want good food and wine.

An alternative is a finca on the east coast – there are plenty to choose from. The east coast around Manacor is stunning.

There’s a hotel called the Salvia in Soller Town (not the port) that ticks all the boxes – except is a bit over in price in August.

But it’s about 8 rooms, has a pool, quiet, adults only etc. Have stayed there a couple of times over the years. It’s tucked down a side street but you’re a few minutes walk into the town centre, and can get the train back over to Palma or the tram down to the coast if you want. They used to have honour bars dotted around the place, help yourself, write a chit out & sign it, then they add it up at the end of the stay. Brilliant idea (hic…)

Got timed out on this but I see the Salvia has rooms from EUR230 a night incl Breakfast in late August so you’re probably bang on the money.
