So Curve is good for £10k per month, what else?
FX can work ok with it too midweek if you don’t have a 0% FX card.
You can top up Monzo at a Paypoint with a credit card – the fee is low enough to make it worthwhile.

I thought Monzo topups at Paypoint were only for cash deposits?
Co-Op can be very useful in general if you get the MOS onside.
They have Paypoint machines and accept Amex for all transactions.
Best used for paying Council Tax etc. if they don’t accept Amex directly
Also Amy C, do you have a pilot license? It’s a really cool pic 🙂

Not all co-ops are the same. Mine will take ‘debit’ cards for council tax, but not any credit cards.
Around here (Oxfordshire), Amex payments work on the “blue” co-ops but not on the “green” ones.

I can’t comment on Monzo, but Monese got very upset when I made a habit of this (despite staying within the stated limits) and closed my account.

Thank you, for the info. Yes I do, not that it’s been much use lately. I’m actually only allowed to fly with another pilot currently as didn’t keep my hours up 🤦♀️

Nice! It’s an awesome photo. Sure you can get it back when Covid has slowed down again 🙂
What’s the situation with HM*C and payments. Any potential loopholes working?

It used to be possible to overpay HMRC and get refunds to bank accounts. I’m not aware of this working anymore for any personal or business tax.
Query as my intention wasn’t to MS.
I used curve to top-up wise. Virgin card was underneath curve. Who charged me a cash advanced fee. As it happened around the same time as a payment to a hotel abroad I want to confirm it was for me using to top-up Wise. And not an issue with the hotel trying to block a small advanced charge as I used a debit card.
Thanks

Very likely a cash advance fee on the curve transaction. Curve will pass the transaction details to Virgin so they will know what you’re buying and it will code appropriately.
Anyone did it successfully with M*nzo? If so, how often and how much?

Limits are very low for MS with Monzo.

How low are we talking about? Do they warn you before shutting you down?
