Anyone else had this weirdness…
Just opened my Creation app for my IHG card and got a pop-up ad:
“Marriott Bonvoy
Earn £100* when you spend £400 with Marriott Bonvoy*
Be one of 1600 Marriott Bonvoy cardholders to earn £100 when you spend £400 at Marriott Brands”…
…with a picture of a Marriott credit card.
As an IHG card holder, I assume this is just rubbish Creation IT mis-advertising?
Interestingly this isn’t one of those “available to first 1,600 to save to card” type offers, a la Amex, rather the T&Cs state the offer will apply to the first 1,600 to spend the amount in December. Bad luck if you make a Marriott booking on the strength of the offer and are number 1,601 to turn up that month!
I thought the old Creation/Marriott card was completely ended when the new Marriott Amex was finally launched, the same way Creation exited the ASdA customers, was I wrong?

No – accounts were not closed – I still hold the old free Creation Marriott Rewards card – it gives 10 elite nights credit every year, along with a 2,000 point annually bonus, so worth keeping just for that. The elite night credits stack with the 15 from the Bonvoy Amex too…
