I referred my wife for the Marriott Amex during the recent 60k SUB. She got the card in mid-May. As part of the July transfer of points from Amex to Marriott two line items show:
AMEX UK BASE SPEND CNSR: 2,473 Points
AMEX UK WELCOME BONUS SPEND: 3,000 Points
My wife has not triggered the full SUB at £3k spend yet (£250 to go with a month to go). However, I’m slightly confused by the “WELCOME BONUS SPEND” points total. Is this likely to be the total bonus or are Amex issuing the bonus in tranches?
My wife has a Supp Amex Plat on my account and had a BAPP that was cancelled in Jun-2023 for context.
3000 is usually the bonus for generating a supplementary card on one’s account. Is that possibly the reason?
