A month ago I upgraded to the Platinum Card. I applied to upgrade my Marriott status to gold via the website and it’s been showing pending ever since. Whilst others went through almost instantly this one did nothing.
After a lot of back and forth with AMEX I eventually got a response today saying.
‘Please be advised unfortunately Marriott are not able to do anything at the moment in regards to your membership upgrade.‘
I’m escalating this as the way I see it, I’m paying for this as part of the card fee and to simply say they can’t do anything isn’t good enough.
When contacting Marriott they say the issues is at the amex end.
Has anyone had any similar issues and waits? Or does anyone have any advice on what I can do?
I had to raise a complaint. It took 9 months…
I wasn’t planning on any Marriott stays….eventually got sorted and I got £100 compensation for the hassle.
Same here, other hotel status upgrades done in a matter of days. Mariot and Raddison on the other hand is a mystery. The latest BS from Amex is that it now takes “up to 7 weeks” that was 2 weeks ago and I’m no 9 weeks in.
Time for another online chat and another 45minutes of my life gone which I’ll never get back.
Why do Amex have such a great plat package but then fall short on a couple of items and give mixed feedback when u call to enquire?
