I would love to book a trip to Accra, Ghana at Christmas but for some reason they have not yet opened up availability beyond September. Any thoughts on when Marriott are likely to open up Reward nights for Christmas ? I believe the earlier I book it then the cheaper it will be in terms of points, bearing in mind the forthcoming changes.
That hotel opens up availability 3-6 months at the time. So it probably won’t be available before dynamic pricing kicks in. It’s one of those hotels where the cash prices are really high and points really low. I think they are going to hold now with releasing any dates.

Also, I wouldn’t be booking anything other than a junior suite upwards in this hotel. They do allow points bookings as well as cash+points bookings.

Thank you! Unfortunately the Junior Suite only has one bedroom so not suitable for us – if 2 rooms it would definitely work. We will not have enough points to purchase 2 of them but you have given me something to think about – perhaps one Junior and one Standard room may work.
I was looking at booking 2 separate rooms on a buy 4 get 5th night free basis. I am hoping to have enough points already but if not then I am prepared to purchase a few whilst the 50% bonus is on. But until I know the actual rate per night I have nowhere to go other than wait.
Junior Suite has a wall in between the bedroom and living room and I believe a sofa bed. I can’t remember as we only used it for sitting.
Out of curiosity why Accra? 5 nights seems a bit too long.

5 nights Cape Coast
5 nights travelling aroundIt can be a nice place once you know exactly where to go and where not to go
Ah I see. Yes, most interesting places for me are outside Accra.
So now we get to mid April and we still cannot book the Marriott Accra for Christmas – surely for them it is a risk that the customer will just book somewhere else
