Marriott Platinum question – elite nights cut-off

I Am Marriot Platinum at present, how do I find out when I need to make the relevant ‘elite night’ points by in order to keep Platinum ? Is it by the end of the year ? Or by the end of my joining Platinum year? First time being Platinum and still trying to find answers.
