Confused by the many payment options available for an avios redemption, am I correct in that the last one on the table offers best value (it just seems a bit random!)?
£ / Avios / Av. Reduction / Cash increase / £ per avios
6 165,000
54 156,000 9,000 48 0.005
546 75,000 90,000 540 0.006
120 144,000 21,000 114 0.005
726 51,000 114,000 720 0.006
210 111,000 54,000 204 0.004
Thanks guys!
There’s been a post with a discussion of this and a good breakdown by Rob in the past few days IIRC.
1 £1,656
2 £1,614

See this post, with almost the same title as yours: https://www.headforpoints.com/forums/topic/the-maths-of-redemptions/
If you value an avios as 1p then the cost for the flight would be: (although some of your figs (the 546 and 726 look weird)
1 £1656
2 £1,614
3 £1,296
4 £1,560
5 £1,236
6 £1,320
Figs would be different if you valued them at 0.8p
