Forums Other Car rental MCO – Terminal C – Car Rental

Hi we are due to arrive at the new MCO Terminal C next week with BA. Does anyone have any recent experience of picking up (and returning) hire cars from Avis at the new terminal. Avis have our flight number on the booking but looking at other sites it seems a bit random and chaotic at the moment – hoping not to have to go over to Terminal B to get the car.

I thought there was just one Avis office at MCO? We dropped a car there in January – I recall it looked like it was going to be a lot of hassle, so as we were staying at an airport hotel with a free shuttle for the last night, OH dropped the car at the rental office earlier in the day, then got the hotel shuttle back, and later we all took the shuttle straight to the airport for our flight home that evening.

There should be instructions on your booking of where you need to pick up your car though. I really hate messing around with hire cars after a long flight so nowadays we always stay near whichever airport we arrive into on the first night and collect the car the next morning when we’ve had some sleep!

    From https://www.avis.com/en/locations/us/fl/orlando/mco

TERMINAL C: After collecting luggage, customers should proceed to the shuttle service (provided by the Aviation Authority) located at Terminal C curb space C17 which will transport customers to Terminal B commercial lane space B29. The shuttle service will run 10:30am-10:30pm.

Customers flying out of TERMINAL C: Return the vehicle at Terminal B. Proceed to the shuttle service (provided by the Aviation Authority) Terminal B commercial lane space B29 which will transport customers to Terminal C curb space C17. The shuttle service will run 10:30am-10:30pm.

I see you can also take the shuttle train. It’s a 400m walk from arrivals apparently, but might be less annoying than the bus.

Like @NorthernLass, we thought it looked too stressy, especially before the flight back! Depends where you are, of course, but we dropped the car off at our hotel in Orlando and used Lyft to MCO.
Plaza Premium in Terminal C v pleasant, btw!

Thanks all, we are heading East from MCO to Melbourne Beach. It’s only just over an hour away which is why we don’t stay overnight on arrival (though we are staying at LGW the night before).

It seems that as it’s a new terminal they are still getting the rental car agencies settled in – there are varying reports between being able to collect cars from Terminal C or having to transfer to Terminal B to pick them up (as @The real Swiss Tony says). We’ll have to see when we get there.

Will certainly be visiting Plaza Premium on our return – not difficult to be a step up from The Club at MCO!

Presumably they will shift the whole car rental operation to the new multi storey car park in the same way they did at Tampa – which has its pros and cons…
