I made a booking (logged in as me) from our household account for my Wife and 1 child. She now needs to amend the return leg. When she tried to do this through the BA app, she was told the member who made the booking and whose avios were used needed to be logged in, and to make the change from ‘my bookings’. So I logged into my account on my laptop (the booking shows up in ‘my bookings’) and received the same message she had. I also tried through my app (but the booking doesn’t show up and the app won’t accept the PNR to add the booking – presumably because I’m not on it), and she also logged in on her laptop into her account, but again gets the same message. Before I submit to the hell of the BA Bronze phone line, is there anything obvious that we are doing wrong? (Apart from next time making the booking from her account in the first place…). Thank you!
I make bookings for the family from my account, you get the confirmation emails click on the manage my booking link in the email it will take you to the booking and you can make changes, also get yourselves put on each others accounts as nominees so who ever prefers can call up BA and discuss bookings. There’s a link somewhere on BA.
Thanks – already tried going through the email. And we are already nominees on the accounts!
As the OP is trying to avoid calling, adding a nominee to allow calling on someone else’s behalf isn’t improving anything.
@geekay, at the risk of asking a stupid question are you certain you were logged in to your account on your laptop? I can’t swear to it, but I wouldn’t expect a booking you’ve made for someone else to appear in your My bookings list. Pretty sure cash bookings don’t, although as you’ve discovered Reward bookings can behave slightly differently.
Can’t think of anything else apart from calling I’m afraid. Make sure you are both there when you do, different agents may take different views on who is required!

Well maybe my advice will help all those people who don’t even know they can add a nominee, and at least I attempted to help instead of being snarky.
OP just call them.
Thanks both. I will of course call, and I was logged in (and surprised to see the booking for the reason you mention – no other similar future bookings show up, perhaps it is because this one includes a young child). The point of my post was to question the computer says no approach from BA’s IT system and to check whether or not it was me or them (spoiler: it’s them…)!
Can you actually amend just the return leg online? Thought such changes can only be done over the phone?
Also I would assume you need the approval of both the member whose Avios has been used and the traveller before such changes.
Unless a 3rd party nominee is set up and even then, last week the call centre staff claimed they couldn’t view the booking in traveller’s account!
