MH & BA Avios Flights on same PNR – Baggage checked through?

If I book an Avios itinerary on 2 different airlines on a single PNR, will my bags get checked through?

Itinerary is KUL-BOM on MH and BOM-LHR on BA.

Yes. In fact unless it’s changed recently Malaysian would happily check through even on seperate tickets

If on a UK passport check transit requirements very carefully, getting an Indian visa at the moment is very difficult!

This page on the Indian High Commission website says no transit visa required if you’re staying airside, which I assume I would be if the bags are being checked through. Unless I’m reading it wrong?

Can echo this. I have been successful many times getting MH to interline non-connected PRN’s. Planning to do the same on the 19th of next month with a MH booked KUL-SIN and onto a BA booked (241) SIN-LHR-AGP.

Yes, MH really good at interlining onto BA from experience. They never stopped. This time we are hoping CX will be just as nice on our KUL HKG connection onto BA from HKG. Crossing our fingers too.

I can’t think of any full service carriers in that part of the world that won’t. It’s usually stopped in the name of simplification / staff training / numbers / charges for bags etc which isn’t such a thing there. Even pre covid there are also generally a lot more complications with passports and visas so some people need to remain airside to be able to transit
