I land @ MIA on Dec. 27th @ 22.00, departing 10.00am on the 28th. Do I need to book a hotel or is there a lounge that is open overnight (I was unable to find one)? Thank you.
Get a hotel room – you’ll be far more comfortable than in any lounge.
The Turkish lounge at H/J is open 24hrs. Loads of signs around the airport in the summer advertising PAYG access.
However not sure how you persuade them to let you stay so long. Agree it won’t be overly comfortable but unless you stay at the on site hotel, you’re going to chew up a lot of time getting to & from your bed.
Definitely get a hotel. You can be in your room by 0000 and get at least 6-7 hours sleep. Most lounges won’t let you sleep overnight.
Make sure you have the MPC app or Global Entry. When we did what you are doing, it took us ages to clear immigration so it was 2 hours from wheels down to the hotel. We stayed at the Airport Sheraton which was OK.
