I’m setting sail from cruise terminal A in Sept & have built in an overnight before departure.
Flying into MIA & wondering if I should just aim for area around Hilton Miami Downtown or is it worth venturing further eg: South Beach for just the single night?
I’m Hilton Diamond & IHG Diamond Elite if that helps.
IC Miami is very well located for the cruise terminal. Plenty of rooms overlook the port. Lounge was very good when we there last year (also pre cruise)

Thanks!
At 29000 points (instead of $272) that seems decent.
Hilton is showing as 55000 points (or $190).
Now to figure out if the Miami Metromover will get us from airport to near enough hotel – their site is a little lacking….
Yes the metromover will get you to the block across from the IC. You could also look at the Hampton Brickell if you want something cheaper. Decent chinese restaurant next door and supermarket and gourmet burger place 2 blocks up. Nice area.
Recently did Uber from MIA to IC Miami, cost $37 for XL, next day to cruise terminal was $13. Recommend IC though lounge was closed. Manager comped 2 extra breakfasts on top of free Diamond breakfasts. Fantastic upgrade to suite (44k points booking)
We stayed at CitizenM Brickell last month. Small rooms but decent enough and quite a few restaurants and bars right outside (but not noisy at night). Uber XL from airport was ~£20 and worth it for lack of faff with luggage. We went to SoBe for a day using the bus and the traffic was horrendous. Took 40 mins just to get across the causeway/bridge thing

That’s an improvement. I was there during Art Basel and it took double that.
This is super helpful information, as we’re considering a cruise from Miami next year also. Thanks for the tips.
We are considering a few days after the cruise when we would like to stay in the Miami Beach area. Is this a good idea? And if so, any recommendations for hotels? Chain hotels or points purchases are fine.
Highly recommend the citizen M Worldcentre – Its situated close to the port entrance and just across the road from Bayside marketplace (big shopping/entertainment centre)
There is a status match available as well
