Hi everyone!
I have 210 tier points from this, my first ever BA membership year. However it will expire on 8th January 2024 meaning I have a couple of weeks to earn 90 points to gain Bronze membership.
Is this worth a micro tier point run to get these points?
No; unless you’re desperately looking for an excuse to travel anyway 😀 . Bronze gets you nothing of any significant value.
Agreed, it would only be worth it if you travel quite a lot and would make good use of the ability to select seats at T-7 and priority check in and boarding.
Agree with others, if it is worth it to you. I can live without the 7 days seat selection but I found the priority check in very valuable especially if you are flying economy on BA from HKG where the desk opens 3 hours before departure and the economy queue is like 100 people deep when check in opens 😨.
The other thing to consider is how many flights it will take you to get 90TP. It’s not just a simple return in CE to a 40TP destination. Plus you need to factor in the cost as a last minute trip at this time of year isn’t going to be cheap even if you use Avios to reduce the cost.
I think I’d be looking instead at doing a double TP BA Holidays deal to an 80TP destination in your new TP earning year which will give you Bronze in one go and will give status until 28 Feb 2026.
