Is calling up the best way to chase missing Avios? Going through the website seems to be quite confusing…..

Are they for BA operated flights or other oneworld airline? Last time I claimed online and I got credited the missing avios immediately after submitting the form. Calling is too much hassle.

Its for non airline partners. Currys/PC world to be precise

You need to go through whatever the process is on the shopping.ba.com page.

Be prepared that there is a high chance it is rejected due to using a voucher code / buying a non-qualifying item / not having BA tracked as your last click etc.

I have just tried to claim missing Avios from a M&S purchase in December 2021. I went through the chatbot who told me that they did not find any purchases made through the eStore. Rather more worrying they finished with a sentence saying “Missing claims are not eligible for this merchant” Not sure what that means but then it went on to at least ask me to upload my evidence! The bot ended with “Our team will get back to you”.

What is particularly annoying is that this was part of the Avios promotion where you got escalating Avios up to 5500 Avios for making purchases greater than £30 so I have two more missing purchases from M&S done on the same afternoon. If they accept the claim I will be retro claiming for the other two transactions but I should also have received a further 1500 Avios on top!

The escalating bonus is still being applied with retro claims and also the slow payers without chasing. I went from 5 to 8 in Jan and still waiting on three more from my pending list.

On the £30, they do seem to be getting tougher about taking off the VAT, a rule that was always there but many shops didn’t apply. With retro claims, it seems to be taken off automatically when they add them to pending.

@JDB That’s partially good news but I’d not accounted for the VAT! That means my order won’t be eligible for the escalating bonus. Oh well. The other two orders were over the £30 excluding VAT level so I might still have some luck. Slowly does it. I’ll be happy to get the claims accepted first.

Even attempting to use an invalid code can cause the avios transaction to be denied – it doesn’t even need to work. Pretty harsh rules they have.

I had exactly that after a near 2k spend at B&Q, still absolutely fuming. I am a very experienced user of such sites, my Quidco membership dates back to 2004. I absolutely did nothing wrong, I made sure of it.
