Forums Frequent flyer programs The British Airways Club Missing Avios and Tier Points

How long should you give BA to apply the basic and double tier points to ones account? My grandson travelled with his brother and father in April, and whilst two of them got all their avios and tier points he has received nothing.

Being the nominee on his account I have now spoken to BA 3 times (giving them to the end of May before first chasing the missing avios/points), each time they tell me they will escalate and each time they say give us a couple of more days to resolve, after which I then call back and go thru the loop again – but now approaching 10 weeks since they travelled he has still received nothing.

Has anyone got any suggestions on how to escalate this issue to getting it resolved? I have emailed Sean Doyle, but that never even got acknowledged, and when I asked today to speak to the manager, I was told he was not allowed to put me thru to one of the managers!

@GaryE – contact BAH, not BA. They should get it fixed quite quickly.

For information I have now spoken with BAH and they have informed me (rightly or wrongly) that the Exec Club can only resolve issues with missing points for flights and not holidays. If you have missing avios and tier points from a BAH you must contact them to resolve.

I will update once we get the issue resolved, and if it is true, then why does the Exec club agents not know this!

Just to update anyone else who is missing Avios /Tier Points from a British Airways holiday – the route to get it resolved is via BAH who have actioned within the week.

We’re visiting Australia this autumn. No chance using my 241 voucher LHR-SYD return nor even LHR-SIN. However I have got two Club World seats 241 from SIN-SYD and back.

Using cash in the recent Business Class sale I have booked two LHR-SIN return tickets. When I go to manage the trips I’m told that my paid for LHR-SIN tickets will earn 0 avios and 0 TPs for either of us. The 241 tickets (obviously on a separate booking) from SIN-SYD will, surprisingly, generate a handful of avios and TPs each.

My question is, should I contact BA now or wait and “Claim missing Avios” after we return?

At the risk of asking a stupid question, is your BAC membership number showing on the cash booking?

Not sure there’s much to be gained by trying to contact them now, I imagine you’d get a non-committal response and end up claiming if necessary after the flights anyway.

Have you paid for seat selection or additional bags on the Reward booking. That would account for a small number of points.

There is a note in MMB that says the figures for Avios and TPs shown are estimates

In anycase they are only awarded once the flight has taken place. So you need to wait until at least a week after you’ve flown before chasing up. They may very well post normally.

If you call BA now you’re just wasting yours and their time as there is nothing the phone agents can do about it.

Thanks @AndrewT and @BA Flyer IHG Stayer for your replies.

The BAC numbers are not shown on the e-ticket receipt for the cash booking but are shown clearly when I log into my account and manage the booking.

I’d forgotten that you get points on seat reservations- that’s what it will be on the voucher flight. Going into SYD it’s an old club world set up so I’ve grabbed what I think are the most acceptable seats available. The other three flights should be club suites so I’ve taken HfP advice and not bothered reserving seats at this stage.

I’ll take your advice and claim the missing Avios post flights, assuming they don’t come through automatically.
