Forums Frequent flyer programs The British Airways Club Mix voucher + cash return

    Hi all,

I am seeing some club world tickets available for LA but nothing on the return flight. Booking the return flight separately makes the cost increase substantially. I was wondering if it was possible to do a mix of a one way tickets with points+barclays voucher and the return with cash. Has anybody ever managed to do that ?

A booking is either cash or reward, you can’t mix and match. You can do two separate one ways, but a long haul cash one way will always be disproportionately expensive.

Have you tried looking for reward seats back on alternative routes with an AA domestic flight to get you on way?

Thanks – I figured I was being a bit greedy ! I tried on alternative flights but it gets tricky. Virgin is asking for 150k points for an economy flight !! Trying to see if I can get it done through layovers now…

What you should be able to is an open jaws return.

This is assuming you can find a return from SAN/SFO/LAS/PHX if you are happy to drive/fly to these places under your own steam.

Depending on what you are wanting to do on your holiday then e.g. a drive up to SFO is actually quite nice.
