Hi all, does anybody know if it is possible to move children to a different household account? They are currently on an account with their grandparents, but I want to move them now onto our account. If they are removed from the first account I’m worried their avios will be lost. Is it as simple as inviting them to my account, or do they have to be removed from the original account first?
Many thanks
I would take some screenshots of the current balances, then ring and ask.
Technically a child account cannot exist outside an HHA, so if you remove it you lose it. I suspect an invitation while they are already HHA members would fail, but wouldn’t want to taste the risk anyway as if you break it yourself you have no grounds for complaint.
Flyertalk says it can’t be done. You probably have to either clear their balances using Qatar/Aer Lingus trick when making your next redemption(s) and then let their accounts be closed, or just join the grandparents’ household account if you want to share their avios
