I’m sure RBS and maybe Ulster also have this happening, but it seems that Avios conversions to vouchers will no longer be available from November 30 onwards. The vouchers will also expire December 31st.
£10 cashback stored up will convert to 1170 Avios.
Earning the cashback isn’t as good as the BA Avios cards but just wanted to point this out if anyone else has been using it. I took out the NatWest Reward Black credit card a couple of months ago to use abroad and gain cashback with no foreign exchange fees, and it’s sad to see the Avios conversion going away.
I have an RBS rewards account. Yesterday it was still possible to exchange rewards for Avios (although £50 were no longer available £10 and £20 were). Went to exchange today – nothing.
Wow. Removed without notice. Luckily had just £10 in it as I transferred out last month.
Thanks for posting as I wouldn’t have known otherwise.
Very disappointing news.
How annoying. I’m sitting on a pile of Rewards mainly due to option of cheap Avios. Has there been any comms saying it is definitely permanent? Has come and gone quite few times in the past.
It’s really annoying. Also have a lot of money tied up in my reward account sitting there waiting to be transferred. Spent the entire year travelling so haven’t paid much attention to it. Hopefully will come back as they have done in the past. Fingers crossed! If not it will be John Lewis or M&S! Sadly no Morrisons nearby. There’s always Emirates.
My “plan B” is exit to JL vouchers and use on Waitrose Cellar purchases. Which is not a disaster.
Converted TCB to avios just in case they get cold feet and switch if off early.
I’m on a facebook group for ex Nat West staff and a few people have been reporting that a lot of Rewards redemptions aren’t working properly so might be related to that.
I’ll be checking everyday and cashing out my balance if the Avios one pops up again
Received email that any remaining avios voucher codes have to be used by 31st Dec.
I see I can now trade my RBS rewards for Avios but it’s £20 for 1800 Avios. Used to be £2,350.
£2350 for 1800 Avios, wow! 😉
Oops 😂
Just a reminder that even if the value on conversion to avios is lower, it still a good option to topup a member’s account to retain the RFS options and obviously extend expiry.
