Nectar, then Platinum referral

Hi everyone – am tying to find the most efficient way to get into Amex (I have never owned one) and was hoping someone could clarify a point for me.

It it my understanding that can apply for a Nectar card, get the 20K Nectar points once meet the conditions and then move to a Platinum card and still qualify for the introductory 30K MR points promotion.

However my actual question is, once have that Nectar card and the 20K Nectar points, can I still use one of the Platimun referral codes for the increased 50K points offer rather than the standard 30K? Or do get locked out of that because already have an Amex card?

You can use referral for the increased bonus on your 2nd Amex card.
