Just had this email from Nectar. You will no longer be able to spend nectar on eBay it seems:
Hey Peter K,
From the 1st of September, the way you collect and spend Nectar points with eBay is changing.You will no longer be able to collect or spend Nectar points directly on the eBay website or app, and your Nectar and eBay accounts will be unlinked.
However, you will be able to collect Nectar points on your eBay transactions when you shop via Nectar. Search for eBay on the Nectar app or website and click out to the eBay website or app to make your purchase. You will be able to collect 2pts for every £1 spent at eBay (instead of the current 1pt per £1)*. Head to https://www.nectar.com/eshops to find out more.
Any vouchers that you have already created on eBay before 31st August will remain valid on eBay until their expiration. Any points you have collected will remain in your Nectar account and can be spent at all other redemption partners as usual.

Or maybe double dipping. Using a cashback site and getting nectar. This way they guarantee you going from nectar site if you want to collect nectar.
1-2% real money back is worth far more to me than 2 nectar points per £.
Aye, it’s a bit of a shame. I don’t bother with Nectar eStores, I think the last time I did was when Amazon was on there (but not TCB/Quidco), and I’d far rather earn 10-12% cashback with Complete Savings than 2 Nectar points per £.
My main Nectar redemption path is Sainsburys fuel (which is normally cheapest around here and can’t be discounted via giftcards/cashback as groceries, Ebay and Argos can) but it was nice to have Ebay as an option when I fancied something a bit frivolous.
At first I thought it was them just removing the Nectar points tied with purchases that’s capped at 300. I guess they’re removing everything to do with Nectar and you’re no longer able to use TCB on-top. I’ve not used Nectar vouchers in a while, so doesn’t bother me much. I wonder if Argos will also end up removing it.

I think Argos are a lot more closely connected to Sainsbury’s so I would doubt they’d pull it.
It seems eBay are removing anything which pays an overhead- first Amex, now Nectar.

Argos is wholly owned by Sainsbury’s (like Habitat), so I doubt they would remove the ability to Earn/Spend Nectar.
It’s a real shame. eBay has helped me to realize a considerable number Avios/Nectar points for the past years or so with good value, especially being based overseas.
Coupled with Avios->Nectar devaluations the Nectar scheme is truly game over for me. Time to burn the remaining Nectar points either on eBay or hotels.
