Hi all – I have a quick question regarding membership and was hoping someone might be able to answer.
I’m thinking of submitting an application to join Ned’s Club or Soho House. I don’t know any members there anymore though (the two I knew have since cancelled their memberships) – does that matter? It asks you to enter two sponsor names and to upload a recommendation letter, or you can click the option which says ‘I don’t know any proposers’. Has anyone had experience with this?
I believe one definitely needs two sponsors in order to be considered for membership at Soho House, but thought perhaps Ned’s Club might be slightly different?
Any info/insight would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you.
I don’t think you need any “sponsor” to join a NED’s club. Just buy a bottle of Buckfast and hang around a Glasgow corner shop in counterfeit sportswear.
Based on my friends’ experiences, The Ned would welcome you as a “boring” City finance/legal professional whereas SH would say no thanks. I think both are struggling currently (The Ned especially) so probably wouldn’t be as wedded to size of your social media profile as they once were.
SH it also depends a bit on whether you want Local House (& how popular that location is) or Every House membership.

Thanks for the helpful response! Sounds ideal seeing as I do work in finance and I’m not trying to be a social media influencer either!
Our office overlooks The Ned – if you get in you can take us round!
Rhys was keen that HfP joined, but we have an Arts Club membership in Mayfair and that does actually have some business value, allowing us to host meetings in the West End. Difficult to justify a tax write off for a club 30 feet from your office!
