Ok…so, living in Manchester, I triggered my BAPP 2-4-1 a week ago and for May 23 managed:
DUB-LHR-SIN- Stopover – SYD in club for two as a friend was keen to save on T+C’s… £340 Vs circa 750!!
Now coming back, I’m thinking to book SYD just back to LON +/- stopover in SIN and was thinking to book online at full avios price for 2 and then call BA to get half of them back..accepting that the circa £250 each in taxes etc for the return stands.
1. Am I ok just back to LON or will I be forced back to DUB with a consequent ‘missed’ LCY/LGW transfer?
2. Are people still doing the book online for the return at full avios and then calling to amalgamate the 2-4-1 bookings to get half the return avios back?
Many thanks to you all! Dan 🙂
Why don’t you book the return back to MAN – there’s nothing stopping you doing this if it’s more convenient. But LON also fine.
Option 2 is fine atm, though a few people have had problems getting BA to refund the 50% avios and have needed to HUACA or go via Twitter (my preferred route). They don’t actually amalgamate the bookings, you’d be left with 2 separate PNRs but that needn’t be a problem.
Sounds like a great trip!
