Forums Hotel loyalty schemes Marriott Bonvoy New Marriott Bonvoy option in Edinburgh

Just checked out of the Four Seasons Sheraton near Haymarket station. £100/night (a third) less than terrible and/or overpriced options from other chains, and frankly a better hotel than most of the cheaper chain offerings. Guess rates are low as it is new, so get in before it prices up to standard Edinburgh madness levels.

You mean Four Points by Sheraton?

Looks good. I like how they have used a brutalist building and made it look cool.

The very same! Sorry if I got anyone excited about a Four Seasons in Edinburgh for a few hundred a night 🤣

Personally I like my brutalism undiluted… but I guess that’s not the popular choice.

Stayed there in May, decent room (upgraded from compact double room to a king room with Marriott Gold) though cozy in size. Breakfast was good enough, though not a huge selection, which is expected for a Four Points by Sheraton. It was the former Apex Haymarket.

I also got an upgrade as Gold. Even without I reckon stronger than the competition for the money.

The only downside to the compact double rooms are that they are in the stairwell next to the lift on each floor. I did not look at the rooms on the ground floor either so possibly some there too.

If you would be spending around £100 on dinner during your stay in Edinburgh then then IC George is usually £180 with the $100 F&B credit from booking through Emyr which would take you to the same nightly rate as the Four Points. Of course that assumes you would be spending the £100 at the IC restaurant anyway but thats how I justify it to myself…

IC George was definitely not that rate Tue/Wed this week — graduation ceremonies meant super-high prices in all the nicer places.

The Scottish Open golf starting on Thurs would have been a very significant driver of Edinburgh hotel stays on Weds night too. I know because we were part of that 🙂
