Hi I HAVE JUST JOINED THIS GROUP. MY QUERY IS : CAN I GIVE POINTS TO MY SON AND HIS FAMILY? WE ARE UNABLE TO TRAVEL AT THE MOMENT DUE TO HEALTH CONSIDERATIONS AND I WAS WONDERING IF I COULD GIVE SOME POINTS TO MY SON TO USE TOWARDS ACCOMMODATION IN MAJORCA? HE AND HIS WIFE ARE AMEX CARD HOLDERS AND THEY ARE USING COMPANION VOUCHERS FOR FLIGHTS BUT ACCOMMODATION IS VERY EXPENSIVE AS SHE IS A TEACHER SO THEY HAVE TO GO IN SCHOOL HOLIDAYS/AUGUST.
ALTERNATIVELY DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW WE CAN SELL SOME OF THE POINTS?
THANKS FOR ANY ADVICE!
IT DEPENDS WHAT SORT OF POINTS. YOU CAN… ok I’ll stop shouting now 😉
You can’t transfer Amex MR points, but you can transfer your Amex MR points to BA’s points called Avios and then set up a British Airways household account to allow those points to be used by your family free of charge
Details on the household account are here https://www.headforpoints.com/2023/02/13/how-do-british-airways-executive-club-household-accounts-work/
Do not try to sell any of your points!
Do not even think of selling them!
People who get found out doing it often have their accounts closed and lose whatever points th may still hold.
