It appears BA have made some changes to OLCI recently (within the last 2-3 weeks), and where previously if you did not download your boarding pass you could go back to OLCI later and change your seat, that option seems to have disappeared. The webpage is now entitled ‘British Airways – New Online Check-in’, with a visibly updated interface which is exactly the same via my browser and the BA app.
Having already checked in, if I go to OLCI again the only option it now gives me is to download the boarding pass. Anyone else experienced this, and/or am I missing something obvious?
Looking at the booking via MMB simply confirms what seat I have, cannot change it from there (as you couldn’t previously once OLCI had opened).
Yes I noticed that as well on my last couple of flights.
Rather annoying as but a few months ago I was able to move 3 times to get towards the front of the CE cabin from being on the last row.
Update: When I later hit the ‘Download boarding pass’ button on the app homepage, I got the previous style option to change seat before actually downloading.
I and a couple of others have noticed recently that we can now only download our own boarding passes and not other people on the booking. I can’t think has been done deliberately as what are you supposed to do about children or anyone else on the booking who hasn’t got a BAEC account 🤷♀️
Just checked in for a flight and wasn’t even presented with the option to check in luggage. Lucky I’ve only got carry on this time.
Same issue as above too, not being able to change seats, however BP didn’t download so going back in, I was then given the change seats option. Decided not to change anything as the app seems more flaky than usual.

This has been going on for months with me. Used to have no problem getting more than one boarding pass on the app, then it would only let me get one, then randomly decided it would let me get two – but only after the second boarding pass had first been downloaded to a different phone/account – then it went back to only getting one pass.
Youd think the absolute minimum an app would do is allow the boarding passes to be available lol.
You would think 🙄
It was our first flight anywhere since February so it may well have been going on for some months. Gotta love the BA enhancements!
I can see why BA stopped issuing more than one BP per phone
The number of times I’ve seen boarding delayed whilst someone is having difficulty in finding the numerous BPs for their party. Heck some solo flyers seem to have difficulty in finding then
Preference for me is a printed one.
As to the seat issue one solution sugegsted on flyer talk is to ask to be off loaded so you can start check in again but that also has it’s disadvantages as a process.
While I can see that parents might wish to have their children’s boarding cards on their app, for most adults it seems an awful lot easier for each person to have their own so they can e.g. enter a lounge or shop independently of each other quite apart from the above reported messing about (= delay) at the automatic gates to security or at the boarding gate.
Re my original point regarding no longer being and to change seat via OLCI after the initial check in, having done it two days in a row now I can confirm that the option is still available within the app when you choose to download the BP directly within the app, but not via OLCI (a second time).
Re only being able to download one BP, I’m tempted to put my grandkid’s BP’s on their own devices, then send them through first and see if the system kicks off about unaccompanied children!
@JDB, of course, but what I normally do is download both our boarding passes then send a screenshot to my OH of his. If he’s now got to do this separately it will take more time and I will need to make sure he has actually done it 😂 (ditto for the teenager if he is travelling with us!)

It is annoying when people seem to struggle with a phone and a passport, but having everyone’s BP on a phone is also really convenient especially when travelling HBO and no need to check-in/bag drop at the airport.
I’ll probably end up doing what @NorthernLass does – screenshots – unless the feature reappears.
But you won’t be able to do screenshots if the other boarding passes don’t appear in the app, this is the problem.
Can you still download a PDF with multiple boarding passes, then distribute the others as required? At MMB level it’s not looking at or dealing with individuals. Not as convenient a way of getting them in the first place of course, I’m just trying to think around it.

You can still download them as separate PDFs when checking in.
I also managed to get into a screen where it showed all passengers that had checked in and allowed me to download the BPs to the phone. It then appeared, just like it used to with the ability to scroll through the BPs. However, accessing the BP from the home screen or “my boarding passes”, still only showed my BP and the others had gone!
I’m not keen on PDF-type screenshots, often the scanners don’t seem to like them and it takes several goes to get through.
Agree. OH was shown a rocking motion for the phone by security the other day when it wasn’t scanning, worked a treat!

As a tech guy, it could be that the BA app requests permission to alter the screen brightness – which is often a cause of non-scanning. And that your PDF app doesn’t so you need to change it manually. The QR code is perfect.
I’m sure in the past you just swiped left/right to move between downloaded boarding passes, so probably user error or lack of education by staff.

The problem is only the logged in user’s BP can be downloaded to the app. There’s no ability to get the others, so no swiping possible.
“The QR code is perfect” – I’m sure that’s a line from a sci-fi/disaster movie!
