Hi all,
Flying to Malta in a few weeks. I am bronze and we have gone for standard economy with luggage in the hold.
However, for some reason I can’t select seats (even to buy) from MMB. I get a message saying it is not possible to do this online and that I need to call BA to do it.
So I did, and rather bafflingly I was told that BA had a new type of ticket where you can’t do this stuff online and you need to call. The CS agent confirmed that my ticket had not been discounted in any way.
I asked him to clarify if he was saying that this is not an IT error, but rather a new policy, he said yes.
This does not sound right to me but I can’t be done with trying to get through to someone else and have to explain the whole thing again.
Has anyone had a similar problem? I asked the agent to confirm that there is no issue with the ticketing, which he confirmed, but I am not sure how much I trust what I have been told…
Sounds like a ticketing issue to me – can you generate one from Finnair ?(google “finnair ticket receipt” )
Makes no sense to have customer service agents tied up with seat bookings, I’d phone again and hope you get someone different, unless the person you spoke to actually managed to book the tickets.
That sounds crazy – why make extra work for the call centres?!
