New York trip recommendations?

Wouldn’t TripAdvisor be the best place for something as general and wide open as this?

Agree more detail needed. Theatre? Museums? Shopping? Preference of area for hotel?

If it’s been 17 years, go see/eat/hang in Williamsburg. Walk in High Line in Manhattan. Take the new[ish] Ferry to Dumbo and admire the views.
Some like the new WTC and the museum there.
There are new haute cuisine restaurants in Brklyn.
