Looking for a spring/summer long weekend away with partner and our 2 year old. Have a load of Choice points transferred from Radisson. Thinking Stockholm might be fun (though also open to suggestions elsewhere).
I know I can’t quite book yet, but will be able to soon. Any hints/tips, or hotel recommendations?
Well Oslo isn’t Stockholm, but…

Oslo Bergen train is notable.
And Bergen is a nice gateway for fjörds, even for day trips with the little one.

I didn’t know about transferring Radisson to Choice.. does it work from the UK scheme or only Radisson Americas?
Thanks! I wasn’t that taken by Oslo (or the area that the Thief is in) when I visited, though it does look like a good value redemption. Will have a think.
@t0m sadly I think that option has ended now.
I’d be curious if anyone knows a way to convert Amex membership rewards on a UK card into Choice Privilege points

Damn, because I am in the market for some Choice points and have some Radisson points which are expiring!
Hi AnotherUser,
I would seriously consider going for a Clarion Collection Hotel, Tapto and Wellington both have good reviews, simply because a light evening meal is included in points bookings, and eating out is just shockingly expensive in Stockholm.
I transferred all my Radisson points to Choice (now Strawberry!) for the exact same purpose. I used half for a long weekend in Oslo. We stayed in the Comfort Hotel Grand Central. I liked the look of the Thief but the location was a bit off and they had no twin rooms available which was a deal-breaker for that trip. The Grand Central is in a MUCH better location – arguably one of the best in the city – close to everything we wanted to check out. However it is very design focused and might not appeal to all – think a more extreme Moxy (eg with big murals in the room). I liked it and the space in the room was great, but a bit cramped at breakfast with less choice than average (and I think Nordic hotels don’t have the biggest breakfast spreads to begin with!). The value per point was great – IIRC 4 or 5 times the target value for a Radisson point.
I used the rest for a long weekend in Helsinki, staying at the F6. The value per point was even better, the hotel was great, the room was huge and the breakfast was lovely. The location was very good but not perfect – just the wrong side of the park for me, but my first choice (the Hotel Kamp) was not available.
I’ve not stayed in any of the Stockholm ones – sorry, but looking at the site there are loads of good options. My suggestion would be to pick an area first, then look at the nearby hotel – and make sure you click on each hotel to see what room categories are available – they don’t just offer one standard room type. Both times I booked there were larger, premium rooms available for the same price as a standard – which I was delighted to nab (and actually got on check in). I think you have to wait until 90 days out to book too.
I’d take stockholm over oslo anyway. At six hotel in Stockholm might be worth a look. I think it is bookable with choice points.
Stayed at At Six on Choice points two months ago and it’s really good. Worth looking at FHR as well if it’s off season as the rate could be quite cheap.

2 night stay recently at six for £320 with FHR. That’s a bargain for stockholm
