Good morning
We are doing a road trip around Philly, New York State and the Hudson valley ending in NYC for one night before a late flight from Newark at the end of June.
Any recommendation on luxury hotels for 1 night ideally ones Emyr can book? I have seen some mention the Park Hyatt and Peninsula before?
Thanks chris
Have you contacted Emyr? He is really helpful and will send you a list of suggestions with prices and what perks are included. I think the biggest factor is whereabouts in NYC you’d prefer to be.

Thanks. We don’t really mind where to stay we have been to NYC a few times before and as it is one night we will probably do a bit of shopping and use our Amex platinum dining credit when we are there. Emyr I found was very good before but I had to give him some options, so was looking for a few thoughts to help.
What are your requirements that the hotel needs to offer for pre-dinner cocktails, dining and breafast?
I’m considering a short trip next year as I’ll have an expiring Virgin voucher and still haven’t flown in UC! (As long as US cities don’t go even further downhill in the meantime, anyway). I’m thinking either the Conrad or IC Barclay. If I had the budget it would be the Ritz Carlton or Four Seasons!
All the hotel groups he covers are listed in the Bon vivant website as are the benefits as these do vary for example some chains award them on a one night stay others it’s a minimum of 2 nights or it’s a $50 room credit not $ 100
The more info you give him the more tailored service he can offer.
So whilst he’s very helpful you need to help him help you.
…you need to help him help you.
BTW he’s running today’s London Marathon and has a Just Giving page.

Thanks. We flew UC a few years back and have to say it was a nice experience and the clubhouse in Heathrow is really v good.

We would ideally like a nice bar for pre drinks cocktails and a night cap. Doesn’t need to have a restaurant as we will go out somewhere for dinner.
I think somewhere around 5th Avenue and Central Park would be good. Previously we stayed at the Lotte Palace Towers which were v good.
