    Morning,

Does anyone know when the peak/off-peak dates for 2023 are likely to be released in full? I’m planning a career break and want to confirm dates with my employer but will build around this. Intend to fly out to Tokyo early April and return back from Singapore in late May.

    Thanks

Early April is pretty much guaranteed to be peak. At least in Cambridgeshire it’s school holidays. Ditto half-term late May.

Looking at the 2022 dates here you can see its not just a solid block of peak dates surrounding Easter (17th Apr), there are quite a few off-peak days mainly mid week. We’re travelling the first weekend of the Easter holidays returning the last weekend and the return leg was off peak for us.

Easter 2023 is April 9th so a few days after that may be off-peak.

The same goes for the summer holidays if you can travel midweek you could save a few avios.

I think they were released in June last year (so not helpful for the first half of the next year!)
Core Easter holidays are likely to be the first 2 weeks in April with maybe a few days either side as some schools have longer than a fortnight. There are some very random off peak days this year which means you can grab a bargain even at peak period – for example December 14th this year is off peak so I managed to grab 2 F seats outbound to the US at 68k avios with a 241 for our Xmas road trip.

Exactly my logic – for example this year Monday 4th is off-peak but the first week of Easter hols, so maybe Monday 3rd would be this year! Might just have to take my chances….

That actually reminded me that March 28th, 29th and 30th are off peak this year, despite being in the first week of our Easter hols – hence my F booking to BOS that week!
I wonder if there’s a method behind it, surely someone on here would be able to run a programme to work it out? 😂

From previous perusals of RFF (when it was more reliable), I noted that the most likely days to get off peak seats in F were Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Might be worth a speculative booking, like you say …

    * – April 4/5/6 all off peak this year also.
