Thought I’d share a positive experience I had when booking a one-way flight back from Dubai next November. Instead of only being able to use it to discount one ticket, the agent applied it across two (there are four of us travelling). So in total we only required 50% of the total flying club points required – 95k in UC.
From my understanding this is a notable difference vs the BA Amex voucher. Sharing in case it’s useful to anyone else

Isn’t it already widely known that you can either upgrade 1 person return or 2 people one way?
Clause 5 of https://uk.virginmoney.com/virgin/credit-cards/vaa-cards/terms/reward-plus.jsp (for the Reward+ card) and https://uk.virginmoney.com/virgin/credit-cards/vaa-cards/terms/reward.jsp (for the Reward card), but it’s a useful reminder nonetheless.
This is different to the upgrade 2 people one-way though? Here it sounds like a single companion voucher was used to require only 50% of the points for 4 passengers. Normally the companion/upgrade voucher would only apply to two people. Or have I misunderstood what’s taken place?

Having experienced the less flexible BA version, I’d likely read that and have expected it to mean having to have two separate single flights as a paying/points passenger rather than two on the same booking. Probable everyone else is more clued-up but thought helpful in case there are others out there like me
