Forums Frequent flyer programs The British Airways Club Open jaw 241 Companion Voucher to Australia

  • 10 posts

    Hi

We were hoping to use our 241 companion voucher next year flying into Sydney and back from Perth. However, I’ve suddenly realised this may not be possible as BA only seem to operate flights to Sydney, other Australian airports are code-shared (so you can’t use the 241 voucher).

Am I missing something or is this correct ? I’ve looked at the AVIOS points table and it only shows AVIOS for Sydney so think I’m correct.

Thanks – might need a bit of replanning in this case

This is correct – you’d need to get a separate connecting flight from SYD to Perth.

If you’re hoping to get CW seats, you need to do plenty of research on here so you can hone your technique as they’re not easy to come by!

Thanks NL, I’ve trawled through the 48 page thread for CW seats…think I’m as ready as I’ll ever be 🙂

Sorry, just to check what you’re saying…I can only use the 241 voucher for BA flights to/from Sydney. No other Australian airport has BA operated flights. So we’d need to fly from Perth to Sydney then from Sydney the UK on our 241. Yeah ?

Yes. The 241 can only be used on BA, IB and EI. So you need to book LHR-SYD (or somewhere else you can connect from, e.g. SIN), and your onward flights to and from Perth will be completely separate.

Well done on reading all 48 pages, lol.

We have used the 241 to fly into Sydney and back from Singapore. We were actually flying back from Melbourne so got a Jetstar flight from Melbourne to Singapore. We got club suite on all legs with BA but got extremely cheap economy flights from Melbourne to Singapore. It was a day time flight and we paid for extra leg room seats which were good and just watched movies. I like a stopover in Singapore so it worked out well, this was in January and I think it cost about £300!
