I plan to book at 355 days for flights to Europe. ABZ to NAP o/b, BAR to ABZ i/b. I will book each leg as they are released. I want to use a companion voucher.
I just want to check this is correct.
1. On release of o/b book one way flight online and apply companion voucher.
2. On release of i/b book online one way return.
3. Call BA and ask to link the booking thereby reducing the Avios spent on the inbound.
It might be better at stage 3 just to call BA to book the flights ?
Thanks
Yes you can call to add the inbound leg if you’re happy that the seats won’t all be snapped up as soon as they’re released.
If you do book online, you need to ask for 50% avios back, not for the bookings to be linked. You will retain 2 separate PNRs.
Remember you get charged for each leg on a short-haul booking, which ends up requiring quite a lot of avios!
