Booked a cruise from Athens to Dubai.
Is it possible to book an open jaw with avios LHR – ATH / DXB – LHR and use my Barclaycard voucher to upgrade 2 x Business on the return leg from Dubai?
Yes, but you’ll need the call centre to do the booking with it being open jaw.
You can only use the BC voucher on flights departing from the UK – you’d need to be doing the cruise the other way around! Sounds like a great trip, though.
I also think the route couldn’t be booked as an open jaw as the distances don’t comply with the rules, but the surcharges for booking the 2 legs separately shouldn’t be excessive for DXB, and of course you’ll just get charged the RFS fee for ATH.
Not sure how the rules work but distances are as follow:
LHR – ATH 1312 miles
ATH – DXB 1769 miles
DXB – LHR 2972 miles
Will the distances allow me to book the open jaw and can I use the Barclaycard voucher to upgrade the return only from Dubai for 2 passengers?
How would I calculate the taxes?
