BA have cancelled our Tampa flight this week. Our route was LGW-TPA, 5 nights, seperately booked JetBlue to La Guardia, 2 nights, JFK-LHR (J class).
It was an old Amex 2-1, previously cancelled flight in an FTV so was valid to September 2023.
I think there’s an option to use airports within 300 miles or so, so MIA and MCO should be an option now.
Ideally we’d like to wait now until about October, as we have a lot of other trips booked this year thanks to previous cancellations.
Is it the case that BA have to offer me an option to use it whenever I like, given they cancelled the outbound sector, and can I just let the booking lapse or do i need to call them before the outbound leg this week? (JFK-LHR is still operating).
I booked the JetBlue through AA as I thought there might be a chance of using the lounge in TPA, given my wife is BA Gold.
Any thoughts?
Thanks, Tony
There are already lots of threads about rebooking BA flights – whether involving a 2-4-1 or not – when one has been cancelled and your rights so scan for those.
As for lounge access using BA gold on an AA booked B6 flight then my understanding the answer would be no as B6 isn’t a member of One World
