Options when return leg not available using Barclaycard Avios voucher

Hello. I can see availability on the outbound leg using a Barclaycard Avios voucher, but not on the return leg. What options do I have for the return leg if it becomes available at a later stage – either before or after the outbound leg has been flown?

In principle you can add a return later if reward seats become available before you fly out. You would probably be charged a change fee if the return flight was available when you booked the outbound, regardless of seat availability.

If you book a return without using the voucher and reward seats subsequently become available you cannot retrospectively make use of it.
