Forums Payment cards Barclaycard Avios Outbound must be booked within 24 months..but can return be left open?

The T&C say that the outbound must be before the 24-month expiry period
as from the voucher issue. Initially I’m using it one-way. Is there any way
to keep the return “open” for future use?
Could I book a very random return at a date a fair bit in the future, then change it, and
if so, does the open-jaw rule apply for distances, etc.?

    Cheers!

Unfortunately, it isn’t possible to use the voucher like that. You need to book the inbound over 24hrs before your outbound flight and you are then stuck with the 12 month ticket validity (rather than the voucher validity). You can change the date for the change fee but I don’t think you would be able to change the routing owing to the UK origination requirement.

The voucher works for one person return or two people on the same booking one way but not for two one way tickets.

    Thanks as always!
